How to write a Secret Santa wish list people can use
A good wish list makes your Secret Santa's job easy and gets you something you'll use. It takes two minutes.
What to include
- 3 to 5 ideas. Enough choice, not so many it feels like a shopping order.
- Different prices. One item at the limit and a couple of cheaper ones.
- Sizes and colors for clothes, slippers or gloves.
- A link when you can. Paste a link from any store so they get the exact thing.
- One open idea, like "anything for coffee lovers" or "a book by any of these authors".
Examples
- Insulated tumbler, 20 oz, any dark color
- Wool socks, men's large
- Puzzle, 1000 pieces, landscapes
- Hot sauce sampler, the spicier the better
What to skip
Items way over the limit, gift cards if your group wants real gifts, and anything only sold in one shop across town. If you don't want certain things (like candles or bath stuff), it's fine to say so in a note.
Adding your list on PullAName
Open your private page from the group link and use the "Your wish list" box. Type what you want, paste a link if you have one, and add a note. Your Secret Santa sees the list as soon as names are drawn. You can add or remove items any time.
Common questions
How many items should be on a Secret Santa wish list?
Three to five is the sweet spot: enough choice for your giver, at a mix of prices within the limit.
